Mobility is pervasive. The Internet of Things has become ubiquitous. Voice enabled devices and AI have transformed our interactions with our digital landscape. Massive data repositories are the result of millions of devices and sensors continuously transmitting information to the cloud. Engineering challenges abound as companies adjust to this new reality which often demands that products migrate to Android, Linux, and iPhone development on the front end and big data analytics on the back end. From this perspective automobiles are simply large sensors or mobile phones. Their markets demand the adoption of embedded and projected Android, Linux and iPhone. Slotnick Systems delivers consulting services in strategic planning, competitive analysis, building company partnerships, technical assessment, Android architecture, open source practices, engineering culture, staffing, organization structure and compatibility considerations.

I founded Slotnick Systems as a mobile centric software consulting company under the premise that mobile software must be simple and flexible, and yet it must be even more powerful than desktop software. We expect our mobile software to do everything desktop software does in addition to a myriad of functions made possible by the combination of mobility and that massive data repository in the cloud: automotive in-vehicle infotainment, media streaming, smart mobile navigation, location based services, mobile shopping, autonomous driving systems, anticipatory web access, location enhanced social networking, and mobile augmented reality, to name a few.

Slotnick Systems is here to help you make mobility an asset to your business. We will help you solve the engineering challenges in this rapidly moving space. We provide proven management leadership to direct the design, development, delivery and support of your mobile solutions software for Android and other linux and unix derived mobile platforms. Linux, as an embedded OS foundation, provides marvelous scale and flexibility, is used in thousands of devices, both consumer and professional, and spans both vertical and horizontal solutions. Mobile software is often derived from open source projects. Managing the transition from traditional, proprietary development processes to working effectively in the open source world requires substantial changes to engineering methodologies, processes, tools, and even to company culture.

We were founded in 2010 by Larry Slotnick, a senior executive with a long history of Silicon Valley engineering leadership roles. Larry has held Vice President of engineering roles with Motorola, MontaVista, Palm and Apple, as well as at numerous Silicon Valley start ups. In these roles he led the development of devices, applications, systems and services, all leading to successful product deliveries. At Motorola he led the Android Platform Team during the strategic Mobile Devices platform transition from multiple embedded environments to a sole focus on the Google Android software stack. This included the design, development, integration, validation, delivery and support of all these software layers: silicon, HAL, Linux OS, application frameworks, applications and the tools used to manage, develop, track and maintain all of these components.
